Muestra la importancia y la necesidad de crear un espacio cultural en esta ciudad para una puesta en valor de los patrimonios alimentarios más notables como es el Maíz. En primera instancia se realizó una revisión bibliográfica sobre aspectos relevantes de la ciudad de Cuenca Ecuador. Posteriormente se efectuó un estudio teórico práctico analizando el mercado. ambiente y recursos humanos para evaluar la factibilidad de implementación de un museo con estas características. Además. se realizaron entrevistas a gestores turísticos debido a la importancia de su opinión en este tema ayudando a revisar el proyecto desde otra perspectiva. Finalmente se construyó el Perfil de Turista Potencial del Museo del Maíz mediante el levantamiento de 384 encuestas realizadas a turistas nacionales. extranjeros y a la ciudadanía en general. Como resultado de esta investigación se determinó que crear un Museo del Maíz sería muy beneficioso para fomentar el turismo y la recuperación de una identidad ciudadana. Palabras claves: Museo. CuencaThe present intervention project entitled “Feasibility study for the implementation of the Corn Museum in the city of Cuenca – Ecuador”, shows the importance and the need to create a cultural space in this city for a value enhancement of the most notable food heritage: Corn. In the first instance, a bibliographic review was carried out on relevant aspects of the city of Cuenca-Ecuador. Subsequently, a theoretical-practical study was carried out analyzing the market, environment and human resources to evaluate the feasibility of implementing a museum with these characteristics. In addition, interviews were conducted with tourism managers, due to the importance of their opinion on this issue, helping to review the project from another perspective. Finally, the Potential Tourist Profile of the Corn Museum was built, through the application of 384 surveys carried out on national and foreign tourists and citizens in general. As a result of this research, it was determined that creating a Corn Museum would be very beneficial to promote tourism and the recovery of citizen identity.
