Se parte del reconocimiento de que la transmisión de los valores morales, de generación en generación, se desarrolla a través de varios mecanismos, entre los que se destacan las narraciones populares y los valores prescritos por la religión; todo ello con la finalidad de regular las acciones de la población dentro de una sociedad determinada. El análisis descriptivo e interpretativo de los cuentos recogidos en esta comunidad ha permitido identificar la fuerte carga simbólica que tienen los elementos moralistas presentes tanto en las temáticas como en la estructura narrativa de estos relatos. Finalmente, se nota también la presencia de elementos simbólicos prehispánicos que dialogan con los elementos provenientes de la religión judeo-cristiana, en un claro sincretismo cultural.The present work studies the presence of the moralistic discourse in the folk tales of Chiquintad. It begins with the recognition that the transmission of moral values, from generation to generation, is developed through several mechanisms, among which are popular narratives and values prescribed by religion; All with the purpose of regulating the actions of the population within a certain society. The descriptive and interpretative analysis of the stories collected in this community has allowed identifying the strong symbolic load that the moralistic elements present both in the themes and in the narrative structure of these stories.
