Item Diseño de un producto editorial como herramienta para estimular la memoria de adultos mayores con Alzheimer en Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Artes, 2026-02-26) Loyola Delgado, Andrea Cristina; Peralta Fajardo, Paúl GustavoThe objective of this project is to design a printed editorial product as a tool to stimulate memory in older adults with Alzheimer’s disease in Cuenca. The proposal bases on the need to understand graphic design as a functional tool capable of contributing to the cognitive wellbeing of the seniors. The applied methodology is based on Joan Costa’s project-based design method, which integrates research with ideation and graphic development. Through interviews, surveys, field research, and bibliographic review, design criteria focused on readability and emotional connection were established. As a result, a functional prototype was developed that includes short narrative stories accompanied by related illustrations and evocative questions all aimed at enhancing comprehension and reading participation of the older adults.Item Propuesta de rediseño interior en las áreas de atención y rehabilitación del Centro de Atención al Adulto Mayor (CAAM), Cuenca-Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-04) Samaniego Chalco, Christian Alejandro; Ochoa Guerrero, Felipe AndrésThe Attention and Rehabilitation Center for Older Adults (CAAM) of the IESS in the city of Cuenca is a space that provides biopsychosocial care exclusively to older adults, in order to promote active aging and a better quality of life, however, different facilities of the Center are in poor condition and are not adapted to the needs of this population. Therefore, the objective of this proposal was an interior redesign in the care and rehabilitation areas of the CAAM, based on universal design to contribute to the comfort of retirees. The methodology used was through the Bruce Archer model, considering international and national references, which led to the use of japandi and contemporary styles with warm and cold colors, and furniture ergonomically adapted to the needs of users. In conclusion, this redesign proposal considers functional and aesthetic aspects based on the principles of universal design, and adapted to the needs of the elderly, providing integral spaces that generate well-being for this population.
