Item Aptitudes y aprendizajes desde la esfera psicolingüística en niños y niñas de Inicial 2 del Centro de Educación Inicial Luis Cordero, mediante el Test ITPA. Cuenca 2018(2018-11-11) Illescas Campos, Nataly Carolina; Merchán Bustos, Johanna Nicole; Villalta Chungata, Blanca CeciliaLearning is a progressive change by which an individual acquires and internalizes knowledge during the first years of life through the relation with the environment. However, what happens when a child does not achieve an appropriated learning for the age? We are in the necessity of evaluate what necessary learning skills are failing and determine whether or not there is a delay in these areas. General objective To determine the skills and learning level from the psycholinguistic point of view in boys and girls from pre-school level 2 of the Luis Cordero Early Education Centre, through the ITPA test. Methodology This is a prospective descriptive study, in which assessments were carried out on children who attended Pre-school Luis Cordero, using the ITPA test, Cuenca 2018 school year. The results obtained were related to the variables described in statistical tables of percentages. The software used for analysis and tabulation was SPSS 23.0, original version and Microsoft for frequency and percentage statistics. Results The sample was composed of 99 participants, among boys and girls. As a result, 42.4% of the population showed a psycholinguistic age appropriate for their chronological age, 41.3% showed a psycholinguistic age below their chronological age and only 16.3% showed a psycholinguistic age above their chronological age, with the psycholinguistic age of 4 years 0 months to 4 years 11 months predominating in the study population, represented by 49.5%.Item Evaluación de habilidades psicolingüísticas en niños y niñas de 4 a 5 años del Centro de Educación Inicial ABC, Cuenca 2019(2019-12-18) Guamán Déleg, Sonia Alexandra; Sánchez Cajamarca, Jessica Gladys; Villalta Chungata, Blanca CeciliaBACKGROUND: Learning consists in the progression and maximum development of the abilities that a person can reach throughout his life, fundamentally this learning is formed during childhood where the child acquires and internalizes the basic knowledge that will serve him later to develop in an optimal way within the educational area, reason why we saw the need to evaluate the preschoolers of the “ABC” Early Education Centre using the instrument of evaluation Test Illinois of Psycholinguistic Aptitudes (ITPA). GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Evaluate the psycholinguistic skills of children from 4 to 5 years old at the “ABC” Early Education Centre, Cuenca 2019. METHODOLOGY: The study was prospective descriptive, this were carried out on children from 4 to 5 years old who attended the “ABC” Early Education Centre, located in Cuenca city. The instrument of evaluation used was the Test Illinois of Psycholinguistic Aptitudes (ITPA). The programs SPSS and Microsoft Excel were used for the data collection and analysis of data. RESULTS: The study sample size was composed of 104 participants from 4 to 5 years old who attended the “ABC” Early Education Centre, we found that, 55.8% showed a psycholinguistic age appropriate for their chronological age, 31.7% showed a psycholinguistic age below their chronological age and finally, 12.5% showed a psycholinguistic age above their chronological age.Item Habilidades psicolingüísticas en niños y niñas de 5 a 8 años que asisten al Centro de Movilidad Humana e Interculturalidad Casa del Migrante, mediante la aplicación del Test ITPA. Cuenca, 2025-2026(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, 2026-02-26) Contreras Montenegro, Nathaly Carolina; Cordero Amoroso, Doménica Carolina; Brito Criollo, Tania AlexandraBackground: Psycholinguistic skills play an important role in child development, both communicative and academic, as they enable the acquisition, comprehension, and expression of language. These competencies are fundamental for the development of thinking, verbal expression, memory, perception, and information integration key aspects of learning. At early ages, these skills are crucial for establishing social relationships and beginning school life, especially in contexts where different cultures and languages converge, as is the case for children in situations of human mobility. Objective: To assess the psycholinguistic skills of children aged 5 to 8 years who attend the Center for Human Mobility and Interculturality Casa del Migrante in Cuenca during the 2025-2026 period, through the application of the ITPA Test. Methodology: A quantitative study with a descriptive scope was conducted with 35 children attending the Center for Human Mobility and Interculturality Casa del Migrante. The collected data were tabulated using SPSS software and subsequently analyzed. Results: The results showed that a large percentage of children obtained a low psycholinguistic level (57.1%), followed by an adequate level (37.1), while only a small group achieved a high level (5.7%). Conclusion: This study provides useful information for understanding the psycholinguistic development of children in situations of human mobility, highlighting the psycholinguistic barriers that influence language comprehension and expression. Furthermore, identifying specific areas with difficulties facilitates timely follow up within the educational and social context of children.
