With the final result of the first survey a workshop and training instructional guide on psychomotor development linking early stimulation , it concluded the same one performed post-caps designed. To measure the results. For a description of the qualitative variables frequency and percentage was calculated for quantitative analysis and the mean, standard deviation, variance and T Student was used. After the educational intervention there is a significant difference in the mean of knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers before surgery (51.8 %) and after the intervention (84.2 %). Therefore we conclude that educational intervention modify knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers, because the value of the test (p = 0.00 which is < p = 0.05). Psychomotor development is fundamental. For the acquisition of functions or abilities that follow a progressive, evolutionary, systematic, multidimensional and integral sequence. According to several studies there are a lot of children who do not comply with the proper development. For that is essential to detect the signs of alarm at an early age with an evaluation of their development. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the level of development of children aged 6 to 12 months who attend to an external consultation at Moreno Vázquez Hospital. METHODOLOGY: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. The technique used was observation, a data collection form was applied to the mothers and individual evaluation of psychomotor development for boys and girls from 6 to 12 months of age through the Denver II Test months, who attend to an external consultation at Moreno Vázquez Hospital. Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, 2026-02-26) Chogllo Espinoza, María Fernanda; Sempértegui Gando, Marcela Estefanía; Cabrera Vintimilla, Johanna MercedesBackground: Child development is the process through which boys and girls acquire motor, cognitive, social, and self-care skills. This process may be affected by prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal factors that increase the risk of disability or neurodevelopmental disorders. These conditions compromise participation in activities of daily living and therefore require a functional assessment. In this context, the Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory – Computer Adaptative Test (PEDI-CAT) is a valid tool to assess functional performance and to guide intervention planning. Objective: To evaluate functional performance in children aged 3 – 8 years attending the Early Stimulation in Health area at the “Centro de Desarrollo Infantil de la Universidad de Cuenca (CEDIUC) using the PEDI-CAT. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted. Data were collected through interviews with the children´s parents and/or caregivers. Results: High Alert in the Daily Activities domain was more frequent among children aged 5-6 years, whereas in the Mobility and Social/Cognitive domains it predominated in those aged 3-4 years, who also showed higher frequencies of Low Alert in the Responsibility domain. Girls more often presented High Alert in Daily Activities and Mobility, whereas boys more often presented High Alert in Social/Cognitive and Low Alert in Responsibility. Disability was associated with High Alert in Daily Activities and Mobility, while neurodevelopmental disorders were associated with Low Alert in Responsibility. Conclusion: These findings reveal distinct levels of functional performance according to age, sex, and diagnosis. During childhood there are various factors that will condition, in a great way, neuromotor development in the future. Methodology: The present study uses a descriptive design of cross section; the sample was made up of the whole universe, 170 boys and girls of the Educational Unit "Fray Gaspar de Carvajal", of the Sayausí Parish of the Cuenca Canton, between the ages between 3 and 5 years old. Result: The studied sample presented homogeneity in terms of gender, however, in age group 65% belonged to children aged between 4 years 6 months 1 day to 5 years. There was a delay in coordination, language and motor skills in 8%, 6.5% and 7.6% respectively. Of the sample evaluated, they are located in the risk category 27% in the coordination area, 18.2% in language and 12.9% in motor skills. Conclusions: Only statistically significant relationship was found between language and age, being these inversely proportional, meaning that the younger the child, the greater the risk of delay. The application of the Tepsi test showed that when relating the categories of normality, risk and delay for the evaluated sample, it is observed that there is a greater risk in the coordination and motor skills in the third age group (4-5 years) and the delay is made more evident at the language level.Item Evaluación de la calidad de atención temprana de 15 centros de desarrollo infantil privados del área urbana central del cantón Cuenca para niños y niñas de 0 a 5 años de edad con retrasos del desarrollo con o sin discapacidad(2010-11-11) Pintado Andrade, Fanny Patricia; Vele Cornejo, Jenny Maricela; Sempértegui León, Silvia Rocío; Calle Galán, Hugo MarceloThe present investigation project has as purpose, to "Evaluates you the Quality of Early Attention. We worked with 30 children, with a developmental age of 4 to 6 years old, comprising mild and moderate cases of intellectual disability; having also been previously evaluated by the psychologist of each institution. The number of boys was greater than the number of girls, which distributed correct and incorrect answers in a similar manner through both sexes. With the fallowing results obtained in the categories of spatial (29.44%), temporary (40%), quantity (48.04%), and others (46%), we proceeded to intervene with the children during a three month period; taking as a foundation the fallowing levels of learning: bodily, concrete, and abstract with an implementation-application of a didactic guide put at the reach of the children as a resource that complements and gives a significant support for the process of development; which combines the advantages of new technology, digital manipulation , and experiments with different sounds and images which promote the development of basic notions. To finalize our work, a second evaluation was conducted with the Boehm test, which showed an increase in knowledge of notions in the spatial (73.10%), temporary (71.74%), quantity (59.79%), and others (64.44%) categories.
