    Determinación del somatotipo de nadadores de alta competencia de la provincia del Azuay categoría senior

    The main objective of the present investigation was to analyze the somatotype and body composition of high-competence swimmers in the province of Azuay. In order to comply with this, a methodology framed in the positivist paradigm with a quantitative approach, descriptive level and non-experimental design was selected. cross-section supported by a field type investigation, where 7 swimming athletes (5 male and 2 female) that coincided in the open water modality were studied, for the data collection anthropometric materials were used to measure the different diameters , folds and perimeters under the technique of Heath-Carter, with the support of a Plicómetro of brand Cescorf endorsed by the ISAK; From the application of the protocols and the calculations of the corresponding formulas, it was obtained that most of the competitors under study have a robust body composition with mesomorphic endomorphic, endo mesomorphic somatotypes, with tendencies to the adipose tissue predominance, which differs from the anthropometric profile of elite athletes internationally. Although the swimmer Esteban Enderica presented a body composition and somatotype with similar characteristics which implies greater possibility of reaching a high level.
