    Auditoría ambiental al procesamiento de desechos sólidos por la Empresa Municipal de Aseo (EMAC) del cantón Cuenca

    This research involves the implementation of a methodology for an "Environmental Audit, of Solid Waste Processing by Empresa Municipal de Aseo (EMAC) of Cuenca" under Environmental Audit guidelines from ISO 19011:2011. The aim of this research is to determine the situation of solid waste processing by Empresa Municipal de Aseo (EMAC) of Cuenca, in accordance with the applicable framework. As a result of the application of the methodology to the solid waste processing, Environmental Audit identified, regarding Environmental Management Plan, two major deviation nonconformities: "Environmental Audits must be performed every two years" and "the compost plant has no fence “and four minor deviation nonconformities: 1. “Permissible Ambient Noise Limits for stationary sources and mobile sources and for vibrations ". 2. "The leach ate pool has no vegetation screen ". 3. "Failure to deliver on time personal protective equipment to operating personnel at the compost plant". 4. "Quality standards for the handling and disposal of solid waste". Relevant documentation obtained allowed us to determine the compliance of environmental processing system of solid waste processing, according to criteria from the Environmental Audit documentation. Carry out activities evaluating and controlling the environmental management plan, as means of developing the recommendation tracking report.
