    Análisis de la influencia de la competencia laboral en la relación entre el liderazgo transformacional y el desempeño laboral de los docentes de la Universidad de Cuenca

    University teachers play the fundamental role of guiding, cultivating and fostering the skills and competencies of future professionals, which is why their way of leading and performing in the classroom tends to influence the aptitudes, attitudes and skills of students, it is under this aspect that the following study aims to analyze the role of work competence in the relationship between transformational leadership and job performance of teachers at the University of Cuenca. In order to fulfill the proposed objective, a quantitative methodology was used; therefore, the information was collected through a survey applied to a sample of 276 teachers from the different faculties of the University of Cuenca. Through the statistical technique of structural equation modeling (ES - PLS) it was determined that transformational leadership has a significant direct effect on job competence and teaching job performance and that job competence has a significant direct effect on teaching job performance. It was also determined that job competence acts as a significant mediator in the relationship between transformational leadership and teacher job performance, in other words, transformational leadership strengthens job competence, which in turn improves the job performance of teachers.
