    Implementación de una metodología para la determinación de costos de producción de cuyes (Cavia porcellus) a través de una cartilla técnica en la Asociación Mujeres Productoras de la parroquia Shaglli, cantón Santa Isabel

    The purpose of this technical project was to implement a methodology for determining guinea pig production costs through a technical booklet in the Women Producers Association of the Shaglli parish, Santa Isabel canton. It was carried out through a survey of 21 questions to the members, 15 from the Huertas community and 6 from the Hornillos community. For data analysis, the Microsoft Excel program was used with different procedures to calculate the cost of production of guinea pigs. First: it was categorized into three groups of guinea pig producers, the first group being producers who own 10 to 30 guinea pigs, the second group being producers who own 40 to 80 guinea pigs and the third group being producers who own more than 80 guinea pigs. Second: the averages of the different fixed and variable cost items were determined for the three groups of producers. This procedure showed the results of the production costs of a guinea pig with an average weight of 1 kilogram, aged 120 days, has a total cost of seven dollars for producers who have 10 to 30 guinea pigs, five dollars for producers who have from 40 to 80 guinea pigs and four dollars for producers who own more than 80 guinea pigs. With the implementation of this tool, it was possible for producers to acquire skills and abilities to determine the base calculations of guinea pig production costs and improve their business management.
