Evaluación de la calidad de agua del sector Leg Tabacay y Oriente Alto, de la parroquia Bayas del cantón Azogues
(2017) Inga Ortega, Adriana Alexandra; Vanegas Ortiz, Diana Beatriz; Larriva, Wilson Giovanny
This work consisted in the analysis of the water quality that is used by the users of the houses of the sectors Leg Tabacay and Oriente Alto of the parish Bayas of the Azogues canton. The study was descriptive, cross-sectional, non-experimental. The samples of water were taken in the different domiciles of each of the indicated sectors. The statistical studies were based on stratified probabilistic random sampling, 18 samples were tested with duplication in each week during a period of eight weeks corresponding to the months of November and December of the year 2016. The physicochemical parameters that were analyzed were: color, turbidity, pH, conductivity, alkalinity, total hardness, sulfates, residual free chlorine, nitrites, nitrates and for the microbiological parameters the multi-tube or most probable number (MPN) technique was used for total coliforms and for fecal coliforms. The analysis of the results was performed by analysis of variance and T-tests of two-tailed student using a level of significance of 5%. All the parameters analyzed do not appear in the current standard (INEN Standard 1108-2014), so to assess their compliance with quality, it was necessary to refer to other reference standards (INEN Standard 1108-2006, NMX-2000, AYSA). The results obtained showed that in both the physicochemical and microbiological parameters, they did not present statistically significant differences in any of the two sectors analyzed and that they are within the limits allowed according to the norms used as the norm INEN 1108-2014 (color, turbidity (pH, hardness, sulfates), NMX 44-093-SCFI-200 (conductivity) and AYSA (alkalinity), while in microbiological parameters such as total coliforms Are within the range established by Norm INEN 1108-2006 (<2 NMP / 100 ml of water)

Cuenca, Ecuador 2024.
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-11-27) Vanegas Ortiz, Diana Beatriz; Vanegas Cobeña, Diana Patricia
Arterial hypertension (HTN) is a serious health problem, leading to chronic complications, increasing morbidity in individuals. There are about 1.28 billion adults aged 30 to 79 years with HTN in the world, most of them from low-income countries. According to the INEC, it is the fifth cause of death in Ecuador. Lack of adherence to drug treatment represents a public health problem due to its high global prevalence (50%), especially in patients with chronic diseases, HTN being one of the most frequent, generating therapeutic failures and unnecessary costs for the health system. Factors that influence lack of adherence are described: socioeconomic level (SES), related to treatment, the patient, disease and the health team. Objective: to determine the prevalence and factors associated with lack of adherence to pharmacological treatment in patients with hypertension who attend the “José Carrasco Arteaga” Specialty Hospital (HEJCA) of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute, Cuenca, Ecuador 2024. Methodology: descriptive cross-sectional study in hypertensive patients who agreed to participate in the study at HEJCA. The ARMS-e scale was used to determine the prevalence and factors associated with lack of adherence to pharmacological treatment in patients with hypertension. The NSE was evaluated with the Lambayeque questionnaire, updated version 2011-2012. Results: the prevalence of lack of adherence was 35.3%, being higher in the female gender, urban area, intermediate educational level, patients with other comorbidities, low socioeconomic level, although there was no statistically significant difference.
