Item Competencias parentales y características sociodemográficas de los progenitores de niños y niñas de cuatro Instituciones Educativas de la ciudad de Cuenca, durante el periodo noviembre y diciembre del 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-02-21) Fernández Ortiz, José Ignacio; Toro Rivera, Roberth Fernando; Palacios Madero, María DoloresThis study was conducted with medical students from the University of Cuenca who are undergoing their rotational internship. The main objective was to explore the relationship between anxiety and intolerance to uncertainty. Anxiety was understood as the emotional response that a person experiences in anticipation of a potentially aversive situation. Intolerance to uncertainty can be defined as the excessive discomfort a person feels in the presence of ambiguous or unclear situations. The research employed a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational approach. The Psychometric instruments, AMAS-A, were used to measure anxiety levels, and EII was employed to obtain measures of intolerance to uncertainty. Additionally, a non-probabilistic sampling method was used due to difficulties in contacting the interns, resulting in a sample of 30 medical students. The results indicated the interns exhibited high levels of anxiety and intolerance to uncertainty. The data revealed a direct and positive correlation between these variables. Then, this study concluded that higher intolerance to uncertainty is associated with increased anxiety.
