Item Transformaciones por el cambio de uso de las edificaciones patrimoniales en el Centro Histórico de Cuenca y la influencia en los valores del bien. Caso de estudio: Casa de Chaguarchimbana(2019-07-02) Pogo Ruiz, Marissa Jacqueline; Tenén Quito, Tania Patricia; Guerra Galán, Jaime AugustoThe adaptation of heritage buildings to new uses is a practice developed since antiquity with the aim of preventing their abandonment and/or deterioration, and, consequently, the loss of a city’s built heritage. However, the low valuation of the existing heritage and, in many cases, the limiting regulations in force give way to inadequate interventions where the historical vocation of the heritage disappears. Consequently, this paper analyses the transformations caused by the change in use and its impact on the values of a heritage building with historical and aesthetic characteristics, social significance and located in the historic center, with the aim of developing guidelines for action to regulate interventions in these buildings. The work is based on the analysis of the Casa de Chaguarchimbana, conceived as a private good and transformed into a public good. It begins with the development of a methodology with the aim of satisfying all the objectives pursued by this degree work. To validate it, it is applied to three case studies at the local, national and international levels. This facilitates a first approach towards the generation of the guidelines. The proposed methodology enables comparative analysis, identification of values, determination of transformations and their impact, to conclude with the generation of action guidelines for future interventions in heritage buildings, due to the change of use. It is worth mentioning that there is a strong participation of the community during the process of identification of values and transformations, since they are the ones who live, enjoy and coexist with the patrimonial property.
