    Impacto psicológico durante la pandemia del COVID 19 en los profesionales de enfermería del Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, en el periodo mayo-julio 2021

    Background: From the first confirmed cases of COVID - 19 in the country, Nursing personnel, being in the first line of care, are exposed to different stressors that affect their psychological health. According to studies, the main effects are anxiety, stress and depression. Objectives: To determine the psychological impact during the COVID-19 Pandemic on Nursing professionals of the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital, in the period May - July 2021. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was applied, a survey and the DASS 21 scale were applied. The analysis of identification data, behavior and prevention measures was done with SPSS v.25; the results were represented by frequency tables; arithmetic mean and standard deviation were applied; The chi square test with p <0.05 was also used for the bivariate analysis. Results: 54.1% of the Nursing professionals were between 31 and 40 years old, 95.9% predominated in the female sex, 56.8% were married, and 60.8% lived with their partner and children. The work area with (p <0.006) and the reaction of relatives and acquaintances (p <0.036), to develop depression; the work area (p <0.038), the reaction of relatives and acquaintances (p <0.046) and mental exhaustion (p <0.016), to develop stress and discrimination (p <0.028) to develop anxiety. Conclusions: The incidence of depression in nursing professionals is 59.5%, anxiety 68.9% and stress 50% are closely related to young women.
