(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-11) Fernández Segarra, Camila Elizabeth; Sangurima Contreras, Johmara Paola; Aldas Arcos, Helder Guillermo
Physical Education provides significant value to mathematics, since it is generated in a playfulformative environment, allowing to improve the attitude to certain learning; the objective is to evaluate the influence of innovative playful activities on the motivation towards basic mathematics in Physical Education classes in third-year students of the educational unit 01H00389 of the city of Cuenca from the year 2023-2024. The methodological design for this research is quasi-experimental, with a quantitative and longitudinal approach. We worked with 60 students, 32 boys and 28 girls with an average age of 7 ± 0.5 years, belonging to the third year basic elementary sublevel of the educational unit 01H00389, selected with a nonprobabilistic convenience sampling, the experimental group was 31 students, to whom innovative playful activities were applied for 8 weeks to improve the motivation towards basic mathematics and the control group was made up of 30 students respectively. The results of our research, after the implementation of innovative playful activities, showed a positive impact. Significant differences were evident, since these activities had a statistically relevant effect in the experimental group (EG), with a p value of <0.001.
