    The grit chamber are structures located below a water catchment and allow sand to remove particles such as clay, fine gravel and organic material of any size contained in the water entering a surface source, is an almost obligatory and the main objective is protect the pipeline, equipment and accessories installed downstream of the recruitment, avoiding problems of erosion and / or accumulation of materials that can cause wear on the system. Sedimentation of suspended particles is due to the action of gravity and is facilitated by decreasing the horizontal velocity in the grit chamber.
