A non-experimental case-control study was carried out, with a sample size of 56 participants: 28 cases and 28 controls; for its respective differentiation, I administered the Edinburgh Scale questionnaire with a threshold of ≥ 9 points. At the same time, section 1 of the SPTEPS was applied for the description and collection of general data of the population, as well as the use of the expanded section of the STEPS questionnaire of the Health Organization (WHO) to assess their fruit intake. vegetables and salt consumption; the Survey of Socioeconomic Level Stratification (NSE) 2011 granted by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC). Data collection for anthropometric measurements was carried out with previous training and assistance from health personnel. For its descriptive and statistical analysis, the software SPSS version 2018 was used. According to the results obtained, no statistically significant results were found for the variable depression versus BMI, diet and socioeconomic status. The patients who were considered cases during the study were referred to the Ministry of Public Health to receive adequate attention.
