    Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas del uso de métodos anticonceptivos en mujeres en edad fértil que acuden al Centro de Salud El Tambo, Cañar 2015

    SUMMARY To determine the knowledge, attitudes and practices of contraceptive use in women of childbearing age who come to the health center "El Tambo" Cañar 2015. Methods: descriptive study in which knowledge, attitudes and practices of women of childbearing age who come to the health center El Tambo was evaluated, the sample is taken from 150 women of childbearing age. A survey for data collection was used. Results: 91.3% of women of childbearing age know about contraceptive methods and 76.7% use; the age of first use of contraception is between 15 to 20 years with a higher percentage 40.7% and 61.3% of women know the side effects of contraceptive methods, 86.7% considered positive , while 22% goes against religious beliefs, 85, 3% said they used to prevent pregnancy, the 46 states that are 100% safe methods. Conclusions: The majority of women surveyed know and use contraception, a minority still have negative attitudes and beliefs regarding this issue
