Item Medidas de bioseguridad en la administración de medicamentos por vía venosa aplicadas por el personal de enfermería en el departamento de pediatría del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, Cuenca 2013(2013) Ochoa Encalada, Jhesica Cristina; Romero Loja, Ana Gabriela; Segarra Padilla, Saida Mercedes; Robalino Izurieta, Gladys; Buenaño Barrionuevo, LLaquelina AmandaObjective: To determine the application of biosecurity measures in the administration of intravenous medications applied by the nursing staff of the Department of Pediatrics of the Hospital " Vicente Corral Moscoso " Material and Methods: This is a deductive study, descriptive and quantitative, which assesses knowledge and application of biosecurity measures. The sample consisted of 64 people, with a sample of 39 people, including nurses, nursing assistants and internal. Results: nursing staff working in the Department of Pediatrics is female with 92.3 % and are between the ages of 20-34 years, with most internal rotating , so that work time is less than one year, a large percentage (66.7 %) say they attended courses on biosafety in medication administration . The 27 % have knowledge about biosecurity measures that 38 % lie partially known, however the 35 % do not know about it. As for the implementation of direct patient care was evident that 67 % biosecurity measures applied correctly, while 5% applies sometimes and 28% do not apply. Conclusions: The nurses partly known mainly on biosecurity measures in terms of the five correct medication administration, 96 % say that they apply, which was verified through direct observation technique for the carrying out the method resulting in the 98% 5 apply incorrect.
