Item Violencia de género y factores asociados en los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Cuenca. 2023-2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-06-18) Morocho Quito, Patricio Alexander; Romero Espinoza, Mayerly Shanely; Rodríguez Sánchez, Dolores AmparitoBackground: Gender violence is considered a public health problem that affects women with greater demand, due to a system of relationships of male domination over women, which results in physical, sexual and psychological harm through actions that cause alterations in the health and well-being of the victims. Objective: To identify gender violence and associated factors in students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca. Methodology: A quantitative analytical study was carried out with a universe of 1786 students and a sample of 317 redesign students belonging to the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca according to Pita Fernández's formula by strata. We worked with a violence assessment instrument and associated factors with a reliability scale (Cronbach's alpha of 0.99). IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0 software was used, and the results were presented in frequency and percentage tables. Results: Of the 317 students, there was a higher percentage of mild physical violence in 98.1%, with a statistically significant association between physical violence, marital status (p= <0.01) and career to which they belong (p= 0.023). Conclusion: At the end of the study, gender violence in the Faculty of Medical Sciences is present with 98.1% of mild physical violence.
