    Ansiedad rasgo estado de los deportistas adolescentes de la Federación Deportiva del Azuay, Cuenca 2017

    Background: Negative emotional states such as anxiety have a great impact on the athlete within the competition and training, affecting motivation and sports performance. General objective: To identify the levels of trait and state anxiety in the adolescent athletes of the Sports Federation of Azuay, Cuenca 2017. Methodology: It is a descriptive quantitative investigation of cross section. The sample consisted of 241 young athletes. A survey and inventory of Trait Anxiety - State (IDARE) was applied. The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Science (SPSS). Free version.15.0. The results were presented in tables with frequencies and percentages with their respective analysis. Results: Differences in anxiety were found according to sex, anxiety state is associated to women while anxiety trait to men. It was also evident that athletes who practice time-brand sports present more anxiety. Likewise, high levels of anxiety were found in athletes who train 3 hours a day and compete once a year. Conclusions: High and average levels of trait and state anxiety are observed, with low levels non-existent. This affects the health, motivation and performance of the adolescent athlete, as well as abandonment of the field of physiological and psychological health, which does not allow the total improvement of their abilities to develop greater competitiveness at a national and international level.

    Experiencias en el parto intercultural de mujeres atendidas en centro de salud Biblián, Biblián 2017

    Background: Around the birth there are different knowledge, customs, rituals and other cultural practices in the different human groups in the world. Ecuador is a pluricultural, multi-ethnic country and has developed different conceptions around childbirth. Within the policy of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), Objective: Describe the experiences in the intercultural delivery of women attended in the Biblián Health Center, Biblián 2017. Methodology: A qualitative-narrative research was carried out, with an ethnographic modality. The sample consisted of 10 women recruited and treated at the Biblián Health Center, who decided on intercultural birth, which was lived from January to March 2017, of different ages, socioeconomic status and profession, residents in the canton Biblián and who gave their consent to participate. Ethnographic methods were used, strategies and semi-structured interview techniques were used. To collect and record the data we use recordings, videos and a form of data records based on the operationalization of categories, with the use of the Atlas Ti program. The categories observed are qualitative, the descriptive-narrative analysis, from sorting and selecting the data, searching and classifying the types, putting it in sequence and processing them found patterns in the set. Results: They contribute to deepening knowledge about the perception that some women have of intercultural birth, as well as attention, techniques and plants. Medicinal Conclusions: The experiences in intercultural birth are related to natural and supernatural aspects

    Factores asociados a la polifarmacia en adultos mayores que acuden a los centros de salud de primer nivel "UNE Totoracocha" y "Pumapungo" en la ciudad de Cuenca, en el periodo mayo – junio 2021

    Background: all older adults, belonging to a vulnerable group, have a greater indication of chronic diseases, therefore a greater consumption of medications, which leads to the appearance of polypharmacy. Objective: determine the factors associated with Polypharmacy in older adults who attend first level health centers such as "UNE Totoracocha" and "Pumapungo" in Cuenca city, period May - June 2021. Methodology: observational descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, clinical histories of elderly patients from the “UNE Totoracocha” and Pumapungo” health centers were induced, the information was collected using a previously adapted instrument, the data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel and the SPSS software and represented in tables and percentages Results: the universe of study was 300 older adults; the sample size was calculated with 129 patients. There was a predominance of females with 67.4%, the average age of the studied group was 73.52 years. The average number of drugs consumed was 4.13. The relevant associated factors were: female sex (p = 0.035), presence of two or more diseases (p = 0.002), having a basic education level (p = 0.000) and married marital status (p = 0.044). Other factors studied were not significantly relevant. Conclusion: there is a high prevalence of polypharmacy in the studied population and it is significantly associated with the female sex, presence of two or more diseases, having a basic level of education and married marital status.

    Factores asociados a trastornos de sueño en pacientes de clínica, “Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso”, Cuenca 2017

    Background Information: According to WHO, 40% of the world’s population suffers from some kind of sleep disorders. Sleep disorders are deviations from normal patterns, in duration and quality, manifested as deficient and excessive sleep (1). General objective: To determine the factors associated with sleep disorders in clinic patients at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in the year 2017. Methodology: From a quantitative, analytical of cross-sectional study a sample of 112 patients was analyzed; to those who did the Mexican questionnaire of Monterrey, the information collected was tabulated and processed in the SPSS program version 24. It was presented in tables and charts of frequency. In order to determine the association, the OR statistic was used with its confidence interval at 95%. There was statistically significant association of p< 0, 05 values. Results: The average age of the sample under study was 49 years of age, the most affected age group was between 31 and 60 years of age with 53.6%, males predominate in number with 55.4%. As for the marital status, married people prevailed with 49.1%. The prevalence of sleep disorders ere: initial insomnia 52.7%; snoring 46.4%; excessive daytime sleepiness 35.7%; and intermediate and final insomnia 17.0%. There is statistically significant association between initial insomnia, snoring, and excessive daytime sleepiness with age, chronic diseases, and pharmacological treatment value p < 0.05. Conclusions: Risk factors associated with sleep disorders like initial insomnia, snoring, and excessive daytime sleepiness are: age between 61 and 75 years of age, pharmacological treatment: anxiolytics and antihypertensive medication; and chronic illnesses: arterial hypertension

    Factores biosociales que influyen en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de enfermería Cuenca, 2017

    BACKGROUND: The low academic performance is one of the most serious problems affecting the Higher Education System of Ecuador, so it is essential to investigate the biosocial factors that trigger it, in order to find alternative solutions to this dilemma. OBJECTIVE: To determine the biosocial factors that influences the academic performance of First, Second and Third Year students of the Nursing Career at the University of Cuenca, 2017. METHODOLOGY: It is a descriptive quantitative study, of cross section, it was counted on a finite universe of 348 for which the sample calculation was applied that is 233, as technique a pre-elaborated survey was used, this survey was applied previous pilot test. The results are presented in tables with their respective analyzes. RESULTS: 233 students aged between 18 and 33 years were analyzed, of which 77.7% of the students correspond to the female sex and 22.3% to the male, their origin is 70.8% urban, their marital status 84.1% is single, followed by a 9.4% who are married and 6.4% who maintain free union, 4.7% are employed, 4.3% housewives and 1.3% do not specify, as for financial support 91.4% receives support from the family and the 8.6% is independent, in the 2017 school year; 12.9% obtained low grades and 10.3% obtained high grades. CONCLUSION: The risk factors that prevail among Nursing students and that affect academic performance are: not having breakfast with 38.2%, repeating the cycle with 21.9% and the belief of luck with 4.7% to take exams or exams without studying.

    Miedos relacionados con el proceso de embarazo y parto en adolescentes entre 12 y 19 años del Subcentro de Salud Ricaurte, Cuenca 2015

    BACKGROUND: Teen pregnancy is a public health problem that is increasing and involves risks, consequences and fears they face in the gestation period, which are set by physical changes and lack of information on adolescent girls. TARGET: Identify fears about the process of pregnancy and childbirth in adolescents between 12 and 19 years of Ricaurte Subcentro Health. Cuenca, 2015. MATERIALS AND METHODS: It comprising a quantitative descriptive study consisting of 122 pregnant teenagers selected in the health sub center through the use of surveys and interviews, with the consent of the involved adolescents and their parents. Data were processed and analyzed through SPSS, Microsoft Excel programs, the results are presented in simple graphs and tables with their analysis. RESULTS: The 10% of pregnant adolescents attending health sub-center Ricaurte to be served are between 12-14 years, 40 % between 15 and 17 years, and 50% are with over 18 years of age, the 74.08 % have fear of having an abortion. CONCLUSIONS: The adolescence is a set of physiological, social and emotional changes; depending on the age of the teenager and the time that has elapsed between their development and pregnancy may be more or fewer complications. Through surveys we determined that adolescents have fears during pregnancy and childbirth.

    Background: the stress is the set of both biological and psychological reactions that occur in the body as a result of stressful event or stressor. Childhood stress can be triggered to various factors or situations that require adaptation or change and cause stress and anxiety can thus produce comprehensive imbalance in the child's life. We all know that our society is characterized by stress as a result of continuous activity that are subject adults, ignoring the situation that children will probably face more often, unstable family life, divorced parents live, migration, absence of one member of the family, economic crisis, abandonment. Objective: To determine the level of stress in children Daniel Hermida School. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted. The universe was composed 215 school children Daniel Hermida, which worked with a sample of 135, whose legal representatives signed informed consent implementing the Perceived Stress Scale, was used as a technique. The data were processed and analyzed using Microsoft office Word, Excel and SPSS version 15, the results are presented in simple tables with their respective analysis. Results: Among the most important results are: high percentage of stress and mild moderate. The 20% of children with stress is for children 8 years. All children living with his uncles are stressed. Just 1.48% of children living with their grandparents do not have stress. Stress is presented more in men than in women.

    Percepción y nivel de satisfacción de los cuidados de enfermería aplicados en los adultos mayores, “Centro Geriátrico Cristo Rey”. Cuenca, 2019

    Background: The physiological deterioration of the elderly is accelerated by the different pathological processes, which leads to an increase in the use of health services. Nursing staff emphasize the need to carry out actions that contribute to the development of capacities and the achievement of active and satisfactory aging. General Objective: To identify the perception and level of satisfaction of nursing care applied to institutionalized older adults at the Cristo Rey Geriatric Center in the city of Cuenca, 2019. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, the universe of the study was made up of 92 older adults from the Cristo Rey Geriatric Center, who were given a questionnaire on the care of nursing staff, CUSACET. For the analysis of the data, the Excel and SPSS programs in version 22 were used. Results: In the elderly belonging to the Cristo Rey Geriatric Center, an average age of 82 years was identified. 70% female. 77% have a good perception of nursing care. 23% received care regularly. Regarding the level of satisfaction with the care received, 98.9% mentioned being satisfied. 1.1% indicated that they were not satisfied and that they should be improved. Conclusions: The perception of older adults in relation to nursing care was good, just like the majority presented a high level of satisfaction.

    Perspectivas de la educación sexual en los docentes de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas 2019

    Background: Sex Education is a high quality teaching and learning of a wide variety of topics related to sexuality. Therefore, the perspective of teachers is the commitment to improve, dialogue, question and propose strategies for a new culture. Of the educational society in correlation with the perception of sexuality. Objective: To determine the perspectives of sexual education in the teachers of the FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES. Cuenca, 2019 Methodology: Study with a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach. The sample was made up of 120 teachers from the Faculty of Medical Sciences. The descriptive method, the technique the application of a survey, the instrument to be used was a questionnaire by the author Elena González. The programs used were the Microsoft Excel program and SPSS version 22 software, the results are presented using frequency and percentage tables. Results: 90% of the participants mentioned that the teachers of the Faculty of Medical Sciences are prepared to help in Sexuality Education. Furthermore, 90.8% considered that sex is a set of anatomical, physiological and hormonal characteristics that differentiate men and women, which indicates a good level of knowledge in at least 90% of teachers. Conclusion: The professors of the Faculty of Medical Sciences are prepared to tackle sexuality issues.

    Presencia del Síndrome del cuidador en encargados de la atención del Adulto Mayor. Centro de Salud Biblián, 2017

    Background: The "caregiver syndrome" is a pathology that is suffered by people whose daily performance is caring for an older adult, who needs it to develop their activities of daily living. This pathology does not only imply a clinical history, but also a series of implications on the physical and mental health, economic and socio-demographic of the caregiver, which are the result of a series of factors such as workdays, stress, Zero remuneration Objective: To identify the presence of the "caregiver syndrome" in caregivers of the elderly who attend the Biblián Health Center, 2017. Methods and techniques: This research is of a quantitative type, with 70 caregivers in the period January-April 2017. The method of study was descriptive. The technique and instrument that was used was the Zarit (1982) validated survey proposed by Martín and Cols (1996) in the Spanish version, was of the form type valued with the Zarit scale. The information obtained was processed in Microsoft Word, Excel, and in the statistical software SPSS version 22. Results: 80% of the caregivers of older adults are female, the average age is 45 years, 91% have a primary level of education, and receive a remuneration below unified basic salary. The presence of physical and mental exhaustion in the caregivers has been identified. Since 18.57% presented a slight overload, and 34.29% presented an intense overload. Conclusions: It has been demonstrated that if there is the presence of the caregiver syndrome in caregivers of older adults
