Item Patrones transgeneracionales que inciden en la funcionalidad de las parejas en el centro cultural de jubilados, pensionistas y asociados Atenas del Ecuador y Azuay, periodo 2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-11-18) Bravo Gutiérrez, María Daniela; Reyes Zambrano, Sheyla Andrea; Sánchez Loja, Wilson FernandoCouples are formed by two unique people with different construction processes, so they will have personal behaviors, expectations, interests, needs and beliefs when interacting and creating a bond with each other. In turn, all this legacy of the family of origin transmitted and belonging to each one, will give a compilation of both histories that will make it possible to create a common project as a couple or cause obstruction in the same, on what transgenerational patterns will prevail in their relationship. Thus the objective of this article was to describe the transgenerational patterns that affect the functionality of the couple in the cultural center of retirees, pensioners and associates "Atenas del Ecuador y Azuay", based on the theoretical contributions of the transgenerational systemic perspective. To this end, the study was framed in a mixed approach through the implementation of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, with a descriptive-cross-sectional design. The semi-structured interview, the genogram and the FF-SIL family functioning questionnaire were used to collect information in a sample of 75 couples. The results of the research indicated that most couples present transgenerational patterns that are rooted and linked in the current experiences of the couple, and these elements preceded by family history would be the molders of the behavior of each individual and the interaction of the couple with each other, so that several of the marital conflicts would be associated with a family origin. Therefore, a large percentage of couples would be accepting what they have learned from their ancestors, and they are not aware of how this legacy affects their interaction with their spouse.
