This research focuses on the study of two projects by the architect William Cubillo Renella: the House of Culture Core of Guayas and Guayaquil City Library, works developed in a timeframe between 1949 and 1959. The paper begins with a brief description of the principles of modern architecture and showing some examples of projects where you apply these principles. Also made a short historical overview of modern architecture in Ecuador and his immersion in the city of Guayaquil to delve into the context of the works. It continues by describing the author important data such as date, place of birth, their education, the influences, etc.. Making a catalog of relevant works, selecting the two projects investigated and justifying their choice. In the following chapters the study site works. The method used for analysis, involves recognizing, recording and documenting information through the (re) construction, defined as the approach to the building through the abstraction of form and important decisions that the architect showed the project time, making this method a source of support to understand computer space as the project axis. Finally conclusions are drawn which highlight the important elements that define or not as modern works studied and justify this research.
