    Prevalencia de deficiencias y discapacidades del sistema músculo esquelético en la parroquia San Blas de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2003

    The University of Cuenca concerned about public health problems has made the project "impairments and disabilities of the musculoskeletal system in the city of Cuenca" was appointing groups to study the urban population of the parishes of the city. In this case it corresponds to the parish San Blas. Among the objectives it is to determine the prevalence of impairments and disabilities of the musculoskeletal system and determine some possible associated factors and the type of care received by people who have it. Descriptive epidemiological study of a sample of 144 families represented by 576 people, both men and women, includes a higher percentage of children and young adults; families were randomly chosen simple, surveys were tabulated in EPI INFO applied. Results: of the 576 people studied, in only 9 of these data functional impairment, structural and disability and 9 cases were recorded, 8 had functional impairment and disability and 1 had structural deficiencies and not disabled, since no limitations for activities considered normal
