    Background In Ecuador risk factors that carry to develop respiratory diseasesare: age, low birthweight, malnutrition, overcrowding, pollution, tobacco smoke, which mainly affects children in Latin America occupying a rate of 52.3%in children under 5 years old that representing the demand of health, in recent years is maintains among the ten leading causes of morbidity in the country. This research has for objective to determine the risk factors that cause respiratory diseases in children under 5 years old on the basis of the classification of the integrated care of prevalent diseases in children (IMCI) in the "Victory of Portete" health Sub-Centre. Basin. 2014" Method: Is a quantitative descriptive study that was made all children under 5 years old who attended the "Victory of the Portete" health Sub-Centre. Technique and instruments: Research techniques used was: - The interview that was applied to children's parents - Direct observation. The instruments that were apply: - Forms processed and validated by the author. The data were processed in the database and analysed using SPSS. He is represented by simple tables. Results: Through this research was determined the most frequent risk factors that carry to develop respiratory diseases in children under 5 years old.
