Percepción de discriminación en la población gay y bisexual del cantón Cuenca
(2018) Pozo Chele, Jorge Luis; Pinos Guayllas, Fanny Paola; León Machuca, Walter Fabián
This investigation has as objective to know about the discriminatory attitudes and behaviors, that the gay and bisexual people of Cuenca´s canton perceive, on the other side, it tries to investigate the perceptions that the activists of this population have and also people with religious formation who are part of this group. The research methodology was carried out with a qualitative cross-sectional descriptive approach, which is our study unit, gays and bisexuals who are appointed to the LGBTI advisory council to protect the rights of Cuenca, and key informants as activists of the X Association in Cuenca and people who attend to the formation group "Lazos de Amor". For the collection of information, the tools that were applied were semi-structured interviews for training and activists groups, and a focus group to deepen the information provided by gay and bisexual people. The ordering, analysis, systematization and interpretation of the results was done with the use of grounded theory. The main results were: a greater difficulty, challenges and frustrations for gay and bisexual people is the invisibility and enforceability of their rights; In addition, the activists have their advance as a sand sweep, since, despite working on certain topics, there are still sequelae that cannot be or have not yet been worked on.
