Item Estilos de vida saludables en niños de 6 a 9 años en la Unidad Educativa “San Joaquín” Cuenca, 2017(2018) Ortiz Bermejo, Sandra Patricia; Pillco Pintado, Marcia Beatriz; Altamirano Cárdenas, Ruth XimenaBackground: lifestyles can influence the development of the school population and even affect adulthood, therefore, adequate lifestyles such as exercise, personal hygiene, good nutritional habits, among others, will guarantee a more healthy population (1). Objective: to determine healthy lifestyles in children aged 6 to 9 years in the Educational Unit "San Joaquín" Cuenca, 2017. Methodology: quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study in 192 children from 6 to 9 years old. A validated instrument was applied to lifestyles. We used the Microsoft Word program, Excel for database creation, which will be exported to the SPSS version 15 program, where statistical analyzes will be carried out, the representation of variables as absolute frequencies and percentages in graphical tables. Results: of the 192 students evaluated, 57.3% were male and 42.7% female. The level of education of the parents was mainly primary with 56.8%. 47.4% of schoolchildren consume legume every day and only 5.2% do not eat fruits. The most practiced sport was football with 61.5%. 67.8% of the students live with their parents. They reported bathing 4 times or more per week with 39.1%. 83.3% wash their hands after going to the bathroom. Schoolchildren are mostly happy both in school (90.6%) and in the home (97.9%). No schoolchild reported having had sex; the main reason exposed was to expect to be adult people with 42.7%. Conclusions: the students of the Educational Unit "San Joaquín" showed in general to have adequate lifestyles.
