    The DuPont system configures its importance by including financial leverage, the profit margin on sales and efficiency in the operation of assets to determine the profitability of a company (Morales et al., 2017). The present investigation intends to carry out a profitability analysis for companies in the transport and storage sector of the city of Cuenca, by applying the DuPont effect. This sector was selected due to its relevance, since it is the means of connection between commercial and productive activities; and it has a high level of impact on the economic system. For this study, a classification was considered according to its legal form and size, which served for a correlational, longitudinal and descriptive methodological analysis, with a quantitative approach.
