Item Concepciones y formas de tratamiento de dolor crónico en la medicina tradicinonal(2003) Muñoz Rojas, Danisa Isabel; Ortega Mendieta, Sandra Margarita; Tenesaca Tenecela, Manuel Jesús; Rojas Reyes, Rosendo IvánAs traditional Andean medicine a daily practice, we decided abservar the characteristics of this in different communities and learn how they define and they treat chronic pain. The research was conducted in the communities of Saraguro [Llincho, San Lucas] and Canari [Correhurco and Sigsihuayco]. with two groups of respondents: 1. Residents of the communities that practice traditional medicine which was applied semi-structured interviews. 2. Key informants [Yachags, Amautas and capacs] by a focus group. For the inhabitants of these communities pain is defined as terms that correspond to experiences. The source of pain is given by the bad air, spoiled food, climate change and sorcery. Most of these people rely on traditional medicine using herbs, clean, ceremonies, that provide benefits in healing. The pain is very diverse because each person plants use their own discretion, so that it can not give a general approach to treatment. For key reports Saraguro pain is defined as an energy imbalance, caused by disorders in the relationship with society, nature and himself. People are a source of good and bad energies, affecting himself causing pain [bad energy domain] and also affect surrounding quines. Treatment consists in tracing the origin of the problems with physical obervación, behavior, urine and ceremonies. The ceremonies are guided by the Yachag who maintains an appropriate balance to positively influence others and coping with negative stimuli presented. In the ritual all people who want to get their bad anergías and drinks is achieved by certain preparations involved, [that cause vomiting, crying, screaming], lashes and clean with medicinal plants. In the communities of the Cañar Yachag agree on the definition of pain when referring to this is caused by an energy imbalance, but the origin is given by the factors that triggers Saraguro take them. The treatment is done based on the source of pain
