    Valoración del bajo peso, sobrepeso y obesidad de los niños y niñas de la Escuela Fiscal César Victoriano Martínez Verdugo de la parroquia Turi del cantón Cuenca 2010

    Method and materials: It is a descriptive study, in which I determine the valuation of the low weight, overweight and obesity in niños/as of 6 to the 12 years of age of the school “Cesar Victoriano Martinez Verdugo”. Work yet the universe that was conformed by 48 children registered from the second to the eighth of basic. The method that I am realized fu, by means of the interview with the 25 the 48 representatives of children who later signed the authorization, in order to value the nutritional situation, educative level, labor activity, socio-economic conditions, characteristic of the house, personal relation, etc., and to relate them to the anthropometric measures. For the rise of the data I carry out the control of weight and charts in each classroom, the same that we classified according to the age and sex and valued you formulate with them of Nelson, the percentiles of weight/age and carves/age according to the curve of growth of the NCHS, also was come to calculate the I.M.C (Index of corporal mass) in which I am used the values of the percentiles of the NCHS. Results: according to the classification of the Nelson the children present/display nutritional problems, being 20.83% low weight, 70.83% normal peso, 4.16% of overweight and 4,16% of obesity. Conclusion: malnutrition in the children present is related to the level of schooling and socioeconomic situation of the family parents.
