    Estudio comparativo del manejo del cólico renal entre los casos del año 2005 y 2011 en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso

    Background: Renal colic is a condition present in our environment, it becomes treated at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital and also particular, the treatment of which is set according to clear and scientifically proven evidence.- Objective: To determine the therapeutic management of renal colic and frequency Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital of the city of Cuenca in 2011 and Compare with the results obtained in 2005.-Design Methodology: The study is quantitative, descriptive and comparative. The data collection was based on the record books of emergency service and daily reports of outpatient urology, by filling in a form. We took into account variables such as the number of cases, age, gender, place of residence, comorbidities and treatment received.- Results: We observed that in year 2011 the number of reported cases of renal colic was 79, lower than that observed in 2005. In 2005 and 2011 the population was affected mostly men, more than 50% of patients are between the second and third decades of life.-Conclusion: NSAIDs as analgesic management for renal colic were used by 57%, followed by antispasmodics with 15.2%. Knowing there is no evidence that antispasmodics symptoms resolve the case, the service staff reviewed the still used regularly and often in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics in like proportion.AU
