(2016) Molina Molina, Juana Catalina; Muevecela Carmona, Doris Lorena; Sigüenza Campoverde, Wilson Guillermo
The adolescence age is a stage with challenges and obstacles that every teenager has to face, this requires that they have adequate coping strategies. This research aims to analyze and describe coping strategies often used by teens students between 16 and 18 years. The sample consisted of 77 teenagers students of the San José de la Salle high school of Cuenca, of senior and previous senior year. To achieve this evaluation the Adolescent Coping Scale (ACS) created by Frydenberg and Lewis (2000) was used. The result showed that the most common strategy used for the group of students was the search for relaxing amusements (Dr) with 73. Related to gender the most common strategy coping used by men and women was search for relaxing amusements (Dr) with a percentage of 55,6% and 41,7% respectively; however it showed the women used a wider range of coping strategies in relation to coping style referred to others. Finally, it was found that the principal concerns of the group were the academic/labor term with 63,3%.
