    Internal self-evaluation of teaching function of the School of Medicine of the University of Cuenca, in 2005-2006, as the first stage of institutional accreditation. The study is descriptive transvrsal four sources of data collection that includes files Medical School, documents, regulations, oral or written communications use. The assessment instrument was built nationwide by AFEME, under the guidelines of CONEA and to assess each of the dimensions of the variables, a series of qualitative questions, which were converted to a quantitative scale through built semantic differential method; the sla was constructed with seven options. The universe and study sample was represented by the School of Medicine, and his entourage was treated by both finite univrso, for surveys and interviews with students and external stakeholders cluster random samples were taken. Results: The School of Medicine was rated the 65lo representing a fortress on the scale of CONEA
