So, this study discusses the importance of communication as an affective bond of parents to adolescents in Sinincay parish in the City of Cuenca. This research is quantitative descriptive and cross-cutting. The parent-adolescent "PACS" communication scale test was used for the collection of information in a sample of 100 adolescents belonging to the catechesis of Sinincay parish; the analysis of the data was carried out in the SPSS statistical programme. The results show that there is a greater openness of communication between the mother and sons and daughters, so they receive greater attention and can easily express their problems when they feel supported, but there are problems of communication between the father, mother and adolescent so, it is perceived that certain topics of conversation are evaded, moreover, teenagers cannot easily express their emotions in certain situations. Accordingly, it is important to study and understand the factors that affect the communication between the father and the adolescent at the same time should be prevented, advised and intervened at each stage of the family life cycle
