This study will focus on analyzing the objectives and importance of teaching the history subject in the Unified General Baccalaureate, because one of the problems that arose after the experiences based on pre-professional practices is the impact it has on the students the correct teaching of history and also, how it influences the correct approach to the objectives found in the Ecuadorian curriculum. From this perspective, the main objective is to be able to relate the importance of the teaching of history defended by several authors that we will mention throughout this project, and its relationship with what is proposed in the current Ecuadorian curriculum. The methodology focuses on content analysis, looking specifically at the curricular objectives of the history course for the Unified General Baccalaureate and also, how these are related to the explanations of various theorists that show the importance of the teaching of history in the educational context. As final results, it is expected to identify whether or not there is a relationship between what the current Ecuadorian curriculum raises and the epistemological theoretical proposals made by various authors; all this based on the particular study of the objectives set by the Ecuadorian curriculum for the subject of history in the Unified General Baccalaureate.
