Item Niveles de ansiedad en estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Cuenca, año 2023-2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-04-03) Montesdeoca Andrade, Joseph Mateo; Rodríguez Sánchez, Dolores AmparitoAnxiety manifests itself more frequently in adolescents and young adults, since this population is mostly undergoing university studies where they are subjected to stress factors, such as the time load, academic curriculum, pressure in tests and final exams, degree projects and availability of time for academic activities. The objective is to determine the levels of anxiety in students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca. A quantitative descriptive analytical study was carried out in 317 students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca, by means of the application of the ex profeso questionnaire, Hamilton test to determine the level of anxiety and the STAI test to identify the dominant type of anxiety in the individual. The analysis was performed with the SPSS v29.0 program considering statistically significant results at values of p<0.05. The most important data include the high prevalence of severe anxiety with a percentage of 30.2% in the students, which had a statistically significant relationship with sex and career to which they belong. Thanks to the study, it was possible to identify that women are more likely to suffer from anxiety, and it was also identified that the career with the highest rate of students with severe anxiety was Medicine, being the career with the highest number of participants.
