Item Niveles de ansiedad y depresión según variables sociodemográficas en estudiantes de bachillerato en una unidad educativa(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-06-09) Cuzco Agudo, José Daniel; Mesa Quezada, Juan Manuel; Carrasco Vintimilla, Juana LucíaToday it has been shown that several psychosocial variables increase the risk that people acquire alterations associated with anxiety and depression, among some of these factors differences in the families of each individual are presented. The theory suggests that adolescents with separated parents, divorced parents or parents who have migrated to faraway places are those who easily acquire symptoms related to anxiety and depression more frequently, so it also suggests that the risk rises when in the family the socioeconomic level is low, on the other hand, according to gender, women are more susceptible to anxiety and depression even more in adolescence. The objective of this study was to describe the levels of anxiety and depression according to sociodemographic variables of high school students of an educational unit in Cuenca. The methodological process followed a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a descriptive scope, using a sample of 251 male and female students, aged between 14 and 20 years. A sociodemographic record and Beck's anxiety and depression inventory (BAI and BDI II) were used. This research showed that women are more likely to get anxiety and depression and that the age of onset of anxiety and depression ranges between 15 and 16 years of age within this sample.
