Hospital Vicente Corral, Cuenca 2019(2019-10-17) Mayaguari Pillacela, Teresa Janneth; Morales Domínguez, Tatiana Estefanía; Clavijo Morocho, Nube JanethBackground: The Nursing Care Process (PAE) is a set of intentional actions that the professional provides to patients through a systematic and deductive scientific model, since a care plan focused on human responses is developed where the individual is treated as an integral being. General objective: determine the level of knowledge and application of the Nursing Process, Vicente Corral Hospital, Cuenca - 2019. Materials and Methods: a descriptive, observational, transversal and prospective study was carried out; the universe consisted of 49 professionals and 18 nursing interns working in maternity, surgery and clinical services. The instruments used were: the knowledge test and the researchers' checklist (Córdova et al.) The data was processed in the SPSS 15.0, Word, Excel and presented in simple tables of frequencies and percentages. Results: 47.7% of the population is between the ages of 23-25, 95.5% are female, 52.2% have more than 2 years of work experience. The level of knowledge about the PAE it is low in 53%, while the level of application is high in 67.5%; the area of Surgery has the highest level of knowledge about the PAE (46.7%). Conclusions: nursing professionals and interns have a low level of knowledge about PAE. However, the level of application is high.
