Item Evaluación de la eficacia de los filtros de los procesos de filtración lenta y filtración rápida en la potabilización de agua de la junta regional de Bayas(2016) Loja Encalada, Elvia Azucena; Ocaña Buestán, Mónica del Rocío; Larriva, Wilson Giovanny; Ortiz Ulloa, Silvia JohanaThis study is aimed to “Evaluation of effectiveness of filters in the process of slow filtration and fast filtration in the purification of water in the of community of Bayas”, by removing turbidity and analysis of water quality based on the values of the physico-chemical and microbiological parameters, in turn verify compliance with the requirements established in NTE INEN 1108: 2014 or international organizations. The study has an analytical research design, not experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional. Four hundred eight samples for four weeks during months of May and June 2016.Were analyzed the physical-chemical (color, turbidity, conductivity, total dissolved solids, pH, temperature, total hardness, calcium hardness, magnesium hardness, alkalinity , sulfates, nitrates, nitrites, copper, chromium) and microbiological (total and fecal coliforms) parameters in samples of raw water input and output pre-filters, input and output filters on rapid filtration and raw water, water input and output filter for slow filtration. Water product mixture of the two processes was also analyzed. The obtained data were statistically analyzed by analysis of variance and Student t-tests. Results suggested that the effectiveness of the slow filter (96%) is higher than the average efficiency of fast filters (87%); but when assessing the efficacy complete process it was determined that the rapid filtration (98.2%) and slow sand filtration (96.8%) have similar values.
