In Ecuador, certain sectors of the Amazon do not have electricity service, due to geographical factors such as the Municipal Employees sector, the Sucúa canton, Morona Santiago province, where residents use motors of internal combustion to supply the electricity service, which is detrimental to its health and the environment. One solution to this has been the implementation of a photovoltaic system. So an on-site study was developed and the amount of the solar resource that the study area possesses was determined through the application of Ecuador's Solar Atlas and NASA data, using the CENSOL 5.0 program and the modeling of equations the design of the photovoltaic system for the study area. In addition, the environmental and economic benefits of the proposal were estimated. Thus determining that the proposal is feasible as it will be able to supply the energy consumption demand of the inhabitants of the area and will avoid the emission of 4.38 t CO2 annually, it also adds an economic benefit which is obtained through the sale of carbon certificates, which are stimuli that are given to projects in which carbon dioxide emissions are reduced.
