Item Miedo a la muerte y su relación con la inteligencia emocional en estudiantes de enfermería de la Universidad de Cuenca, año 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-05-27) Lazo Chuisaca, Diana Micaela; Lliguisaca Alvarez, Anabel Valeria; Ordoñez Montero, Carmen CeciliaBackground: the fear of death can be present in students who are in academic training and is related through the manifestation of feelings and emotions. According to research shows that in Ecuador and other Latin American countries, students in health areas have a moderate-high prevalence of the fear of death process with a total of 46%, having the highest score of fear of death of others, in turn stands out females with 82.12% fear of death that are perceived according to beliefs, ideals and academic training. Objective: to analyze the fear of death and its relationship with emotional intelligence in nursing students of the university of cuenca, 2023 Methodology: a quantitative descriptive correlational study was conducted using a questionnaire of sociodemographic variables, fear of death scale and emotional intelligence scale. Results: the sample is of 90 students with an age of 22 years predominating female 81.10%, Catholic 77.80% and 34.40% have witnessed a significant death. It was also found that there is a weak relationship in the dimension of understanding and the subscale of fear of death of others. Conclusion: fear of death is moderate and high in contrast, the understanding of emotional states requires improvement, aspects that should be taken into account during the academic training of nursing students
