    Paisaje histórico urbano PHU del centro histórico de Zaruma: estudio, lineamientos y estrategias para la conservación

    The study of Historical Urban Landscape of Zaruma's Historical Center, it includes the integral analysis of natural, cultural components and the territory appreciation for the users, in the descriptive, interpretative level and propositional of the proposed methodology. With documentation, actors' participation and tour in field, there are characterized and value the objective and subjective components of the landscape base and of the perception. With the GIS that is composed by temporary and overlays of material and immaterial elements for they determine units of landscape. Result: 6 landscape units and 5 linear axes. By merits conservation, the units 1 and 2 are a high class, other ones and axes are middle class. The units 1 and 4 of fragility landscape are high, others and axes are average. The ability to use units and axes coincide with the current activities of the territory. The environmental quality in the landscape unit 1 is low, and it is average in other units and axes. They are strengths of the PHU: consolidated area with great merits of conservation, visual sources, soils for crops and housing. Opportunities: presence of family gardens, priority in the management, presence of public spaces for the development of tourist activities, and internal connectivity to the outside of the Historic Center. Lack defined in poorly consolidated coefficients land use and land use areas. Threats: Presence of residual zones, increase of constructions without urban regulation and erosion of the soil.
