Item Alteraciones pulpares en molares temporales, producidas por obturaciones con ionómero de vidrio hasta el límite amelodentinario, en pacientes de la clínica de odontopediatría 2013/ 2014(2014) Idrovo Toledo, Gabriela Elizabeth; Vásquez López, Álvaro Esteban; Moreno Morejón, Gladys EugeniaThe glass ionomer is now widely used in clinical pediatric dentistry as restorative material to present biocompatibility with dental tissues; studies (López, 2004) mention that restorative materials can cause pulpal alterations, but it is becoming less common, and these are due to a poor seal and marginal leakage. In this research, a clinical and radiographic examination of 44 primary molars sealed with glass ionomer was performed to dentino-enamel junction in children between 4 and 9 years of age who presented to the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Cuenca; also monitored at 3 and 6 months after the sealing was performed. During the first test (3 months) no pulp injury was found by clinical and radiographic diagnosis in any molar studied (100%); in the second control (6 months) found that 9.2% of the total molar pulp alterations examined were: 4.6% had reversible pulpitis, irreversible pulpitis and 2.3% pulp necrosis also corresponded to 2.3%.
