    Background: The "caregiver syndrome" is a pathology that is suffered by people whose daily performance is caring for an older adult, who needs it to develop their activities of daily living. This pathology does not only imply a clinical history, but also a series of implications on the physical and mental health, economic and socio-demographic of the caregiver, which are the result of a series of factors such as workdays, stress, Zero remuneration Objective: To identify the presence of the "caregiver syndrome" in caregivers of the elderly who attend the Biblián Health Center, 2017. Methods and techniques: This research is of a quantitative type, with 70 caregivers in the period January-April 2017. The method of study was descriptive. The technique and instrument that was used was the Zarit (1982) validated survey proposed by Martín and Cols (1996) in the Spanish version, was of the form type valued with the Zarit scale. The information obtained was processed in Microsoft Word, Excel, and in the statistical software SPSS version 22. Results: 80% of the caregivers of older adults are female, the average age is 45 years, 91% have a primary level of education, and receive a remuneration below unified basic salary. The presence of physical and mental exhaustion in the caregivers has been identified. Since 18.57% presented a slight overload, and 34.29% presented an intense overload. Conclusions: It has been demonstrated that if there is the presence of the caregiver syndrome in caregivers of older adults
