    Percepción de los abogados respecto al informe pericial psicológico forense del Consultorio Gratuito Gerardo Cordero y León de la Universidad de Cuenca y de la Defensoría Pública, en la provincia Azuay, en el año 2023

    An expert report within the field of legal and forensic psychology represents the result of an entire investigative process of a scientific nature carried out by an expert psychologist; This report constitutes evidence within a judicial process, which will allow the competent authorities to make a decision or render a verdict on a judicial problem. Legal and institutional norms and standards impose requirements on the format that the expert reports must have according to each objective, for which its adequate preparation is of the utmost importance to help in the processes with its consistency, clarity and effectiveness. The objective of this research was to describe the perception of lawyers regarding the forensic psychological expert report of the Gerardo Cordero y León Free Clinic of the University of Cuenca and the Public Defender of Azuay, in the year 2023. A qualitative approach was used, descriptive in scope. and the type of design is phenomenological. We worked with eight lawyers. An in-depth interview was applied to describe their perception in relation to the importance, knowledge and structure of forensic psychological expert reports. The main results show that a general positive perception towards expert reports, highlighting their usefulness in the legal field and their significant contribution in making judicial decisions; for them they are made with quality and precision, supporting their arguments in relation to the conduct, motivations and mental state of the parties involved in a legal process.
