Item Conocimiento sobre sexualidad y métodos anticonceptivos en internos de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-04-09) Gonzalez Guzman, Margeory Guissella; Guarango Landivar, Ninfa Pamela; Ordoñez Montero, Carmen CeciliaBackground: Sexuality forms a central part of individual identity and is influenced by social attitudes. The lack of sex education contributes to high rates of unwanted pregnancies, HIV infections and abortions that affect sexual and reproductive health. Knowing about the use of contraceptive methods within sexuality becomes essential. Objectives: To determine the knowledge about sexuality and contraceptive methods in internal students of the Nursing Career of the University of Cuenca, 2023-2024. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. The sample is made up of 87 interns of the Nursing career of the University of Cuenca, various sociodemographic variables, age, sex, etc. were taken. The data obtained were analyzed by tabulation process in the SPSS program, using descriptive statistics with tables and association statistics based on chi-square and P-value. Results: In the population studied, the majority of inmates are 20 to 22 years old, they are women, from an urban area and Catholics. In sexual activity, 71.26% report having sex and in relation to the use of contraceptives, 60.92% use some contraceptive method. He has a good knowledge of contraceptive methods 44, 8% and an average knowledge of sexuality 56.3%. A statistically significant association was identified between the variable residence and level of contraceptive knowledge (value P = 0.049). Conclusions: it was evident that the inmates of the nursing career of the University of Cuenca have a good level of knowledge in contraceptives and a medium in sexuality
