Item Embarazo planificado y embarazo no planificado en mujeres que acuden a la atención del parto en el HVCM durante los meses de julio a diciembre del 2006(2007) Galindo Calderón, Guido Fernando; Granda Saquicela, Claudia Vanessa; Pazmiño Méndez, Martín David; Plaza Ronquillo, Jorge Darwin; Ñauta Baculima, Manuel Jaime; Flores Durán, Carlos TeodoroIn order to determine the prevalence of unplanned pregnancies and identify potential related factors descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted by gathering information from 216 mothers who were attended its birth in the Department of Obstetrics Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital of Cuenca, during the period July to December 2006. From a universe of 2399 deliveries were randomly extracted 216 files in which information is sought through clinical history of CLAP on the variables: age, residence, occupation, marital status, education, parity, contraceptive use and pregnancy planning. The sample was represented by a 66,2de women 20-35 years. The 83,8fueron married and stable union. The maternal 65,3de were residents in the urban area. By occupying the 72,3fueron housewives and workers. By educational level, the 90,3de them were completed primary and secondary education. The 88,9de them regularly use contraceptives. The prevalence of unplanned pregnancies was higher than planned pregnancies (32.1 67,9vs). Possible risk factors showed higher prevalence and therefore influence on the ability to have unplanned pregnancies were single marital status [RP: 1,298 (IC951,08 - 1.55)], having primary education [RP: 1.16 (IC950,96 - 1.39)], having a history of grand multiparity [RP: 1.09 (IC950,87 - 1.37)] and reside in rural areas [RP: 1,152 (IC950, 96 to 1.38)]. However, except for the first factor these associations were not significant
