    Valoración del bajo peso, sobrepeso y obesidad de los niños/as de la Escuela Angel Benigno Barreto Tapia de la parroquia Turi y Remigio Romero León del cantón Cuenca 2010-2011

    Objective: To determine the Nutritional State of niños/as of the Schools “Benign Angel Barreto Mud wall” of the Parish Turi and “Remigio Leon Rosemary” of Victory of Portete” of the Corner. River basin 2010-2011. Materials and Methods: The type of realized study was descriptive of prevalence of the Low weight, Overweight and Obesity of the children and children of the basic education of school year 2010-2011. The number represented by 23 niños/as of the School “Benign Angel Barreto Mud wall” for being a small universe was not realized the calculation of the sample, took all niños/as as it shows; the second universe of the investigation was of 188 niños/as of the School “Remigio Leon Rosemary” being realized the calculation of the sample, that was of 57 alumnos/as. The study was realized with 80 niños/as. Used techniques of Investigation: The interview to collect socioeconomic information, of health, education and nutrition; the anthropometric valuation by means of the taking of weight and charts to niños/as. The analysis of the information was realized using the formulas of Nelson for niños/as, the NCHS curves (NATIONAL CENTER FOR HEALT STATISTICS), the table of Cronk that values the age and the percentage weight. The Results of the Investigation were: Normal weight 82,61%; Low Weight 13,04%; Overweight of 4,35%; It carves Low 13,04%; Normal 82,61%; High stature 4,35%, of niños/as of the School “Benign Angel Barreto Mud wall”. With respect to the School “Remigio Leon Rosemary” the results were: Normal weight 77,20%; Low Weight 15,8%; Overweight of 3,5%, Obesity 3,5%; It carves Low 19,30%; Normal 78,95%; High stature 1,75%, of niños/as. Conclusions: Found the nutritional problems of niños/as in the investigation are related to the socio-economic conditions, of the parents and mothers of family of niños/as of both educative establishments.
