Item Actualización del catastro turístico del cantón Santa Isabel, provincia del Azuay(2018) Jácome Aucay, Diana Patricia; Morales Calle, Jorge Israel; Estrella Durán, Mateo JuliánThis project entitled "Updating Tourism business Cadaster in Santa Isabel canton, Azuay province" has been developed with the purpose of contributing to the organization of the territory, besides the planning and decision making regarding the tourism industry. The tourism infrastructure in Santa Isabel is the combination of the various services necessary for the comfort of tourists, and therefore, they represent a fundamental element for the visitor's experience, an adequate control and management of the information will allow the progress and development of tourism industry in this area. The focus of the current intervention project, that is, the cadaster itself, and all the collected data, has been established according to the technical requirements established by various institutions, among others: The Ministry of Tourism and the municipality of Santa Isabel. The elaboration of the cadaster has been the result of bibliographic review, field visits and interviews that have permitted the accurate data collection and its subsequent processing. As a result of the research, the canton has 86 business in operation, 20 are lodging, 65 are food and beverage establishments, and finally, one is a travel agency. All the data obtained was compared with the information provided by the Municipality of Santa Isabel and the data provided by the Ministry of Tourism, both online and in direct interview with their staff. From the analysis and comparison of these sources we inferred the shortcomings and successes of these entities in the management of the tourist cadaster.Item Análisis de la evolución de la oferta hotelera para personas con movilidad reducida en Cuenca 2011 – 2017(2018) Almeida Butiñá, Juan Miguel; Estrella Durán, Mateo JuliánThe accessibility of the hotel service for the client with reduced mobility is an important and topical issue, which is why the present analysis aims to identify the current situation of the accessible hotel offer for clients with reduced mobility, and to demonstrate what the development has been of said offer from the year 2011 until the year 2017. In the development of the respective analysis, access was gained to information sources that have studied the same topic in previous years, whose results will be compared with the results of the current situation of the hotel market. For the process of obtaining data that show the current situation of the accessible hotel market for people with reduced mobility, an investigation was developed by visiting the respective hotels that make up the hotel offer of the city, in order to evaluate them and define aspects that make them suitable for the adequate service to the client with reduced mobility. However, the impact it generates on the traditional hotel model is negative, as it gives rise to the existence of unfair competition in the accommodation market, despite being considered an activity that promotes the collaborative economy. Until a few days ago, in Ecuador there was no regulatory framework for this “per to per” business model, and this type of activity was illegal, so the research focused on obtaining a clearer idea of what the possibilities of regulation are. of temporary accommodation for tourist housing use marketed on digital platforms. To meet the proposed objective, this study had a qualitative approach with an exploratory-descriptive, cross-sectional scope and a non-probabilistic convenience sample. Information gathering was carried out by identifying case studies using logical operators and recovering written press to analyze information. Finally, semi-structured interviews were conducted at convenience with the actors involved in order to explore the perceptions of multiple actors in relation to the topic from various points of view. The study was conducted by applying a quantitative and qualitative methodology, with the purpose of transferring the knowledge of the best practices and their application of such successful cases like those of Cappadocia, Turkey, and Teotihuacán México, to our proposal in the city of Cuenca. Data were collected through surveys and interviews in order to identify the feasibility and opportunity to generate air tours within the city of Cuenca. As a result of this study, the technical operation of this type of tours in the city of Cuenca reflects that it is acceptable as long as they comply with the requirements. Also, the presence of Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) are very favorable, making the project attractive to investors. Finally, the project execution is perfectly viable and represents an opportunity for tourism development for the city of Cuenca, which will allow diversifying the existing offer. In addition, it would be a source of employment and well-being for society, without leaving aside the city of Cuenca from the air and appreciate its countless beauties. The methodology has a qualitative approach; therefore, a bibliographic search was carried out, also field visits and semi-structured interviews applied to representatives of the public and private sectors and the local community of the parish. The analysis of the information collected was imported into Atlas.ti version 8 software. The Arnstein citizen participation ladder was also used to determine the level of intervention of the community in plans and projects that affect their wellbeing. The results show that there is no integration due to: aversion based on the capital of the spas owners, poorly focused associativity, lack of intervention on the part of the public and private sectors, among others. In spite of the above, there are common objectives through which the benefit of all sectors is sought. Likewise, it could be established that the community has an apparent participation with respect to plans and projects of the parish. In conclusion, in the study territory there is an absence of projects that involve the inhabitants in the tourist area, based on this result it is essential to establish strategies to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants through sustainable tourism development. By means of several group interviews the study investigated what executives and managers in Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito thoughtabout: the value of academic degrees, the importance and the format of internships, the contents of programs of study, the relationship between industry and academia and the profile of an ideal graduate. Even though differences of opinion existed, executives identified a strong service orientation, work experience, strong technical skills and an excellent control of the English language as essential components in a graduate’s profile. Participants were outspoken about the value of university degree and about the contents of academic programs, identified several shortcomings in present-day academic offerings and offered valuable suggestionsItem Plan de desarrollo turístico para la parroquia Molleturo del cantón Cuenca, provincia del Azuay 2019-2023(2019-09-04) Aguilar Loja, Diego Marcelo; Toalongo Reyes, Lisseth Nataly; Estrella Durán, Mateo JuliánThe parish Molleturo was created on 08 September of the year 1852 and is the biggest parish in canton Cuenca representing 36% of its surface which represents an extension of 132,349.04 hectares, it is located in the western Andean rage. Its territory begins in the foothills of the Cajas National Park, specifically from the traffic control in Huagrahuma on the Cuenca-Molleturo Road km 34, until the exit on the coastal precinct of Tamarindo. It is surrounded by huge mountains, and this parish is characterized for having three climatic zones which gives rise to a wide range of agricultural products of different climates, ranging from products of the highland moor areas up to products from the coast. The parish Molleturo also has a great diversity of natural and cultural attractions susceptible to tourism development. However, due to the lack of a tourist development plan to provide guidelines and development strategies, it has not been harnessed in the right way. That is why this project seeks to diagnose the tourist potential of the parish, making an uprising of the tourism attractions, analysis of supply and demand as to establish a set of planned activities, programs and projects, which, if executed properly, will strengthen the tourism activity in the parish.Item Por qué estoy de visita en este lugar? Imaginarios del turismo en Cuenca, Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-09-27) Estrella Durán, Mateo Julián; Suarez Ontaneda, MakaIn this academic work I examine from an anthropological point of view, some ideas to understand tourism as a social phenomenon, ideas that influence the construction of Cuenca as a tourism destination. First by conducting an initial contextualization that discusses about authenticity, heritage, the imaginary of the inhabitants in the construction of their idea of city, analyzing the conception of a tourist destination through the motivations, interests, and conflicts of its inhabitants. actors and the role of the public sector in this construction. Next, the tourist fact is studied through two different ways of seeing it, the first expressed in the criteria and imaginaries of the tourists who visit the city and the second according to the vision of the businessmen who receive and manage them. People who wish to visit Cuenca participate in the construction of an imaginary city that, at the time of experiencing the tourist visit, is affirmed, or rejected according to their experiences. On their side, the business owners, the authorities, and the local community participate - in greater or lesser extent - of this same city imaginary construction, often transforming the city into a commodity to be sold to tourists. The results are expressed in bringing to light those imaginaries, from whose analysis, reflection and debate, important inputs can be obtained on the strategic vision of local tourism that supports the development and management tourism in Cuenca.Item Propuesta de agroturismo para la Hacienda El Prado, cantón Saraguro, provincia de Loja(2019-06-19) Ochoa Paredes, Mayra Fernanda; Yamunaqué Rey, Mónica Tatiana; Estrella Durán, Mateo JuliánHacienda "El Prado" located in the Tablón parish, in Saraguro canton, province of Loja; it has an extension of 90 hectares, and a wide variety of natural attractions and agricultural activities appropriate for tourism practices that complement the economy of the hacienda. Thus, the project is addressed to the utilization of resources that are not currently being managed, so that the tourists benefit from an authentic experience and quality; and for that, as the owners and the community, the implementation of this proposal represents and economic benefit. The construction of 4 glampings style frame A has been proposed, which is a rustic-architectural style where the building usually has the shape of that letter with a wooden base or floating floor, which can offer guests the experience of camping, with the comfort that can offer a luxury accommodation in a natural area, complemented with activities that can involve the culture of the sector. Through a survey of agrotourism and adventure activities, a technical and financial study and a market study, we want to know the level of feasibility presented by the proposal along with its proposed activities, with the aim of presenting a project that attracts national and international tourists, so that they have the opportunity to get directly involved in the customs and culture that Jima parish has to offer. These establishments, by offering the possibility of overnight stays within the canton, influence tourists to decide to stay and therefore continue to enjoy the facilities offered by this destination. As for the accommodation establishments, particularly, the Posada Ingapirca inn to provide a good service, this proposal of administrative and operational processes is presented under the concepts of planning, organization, management and control presenting viable, achievable, concrete and real actions in order to improve this establishment internally. It is settled as a national touristic destination and also as an international one. Therefore, the hospitality service in the city is one of the most important elements used to bring tourism the quality it deserves. So, hostelry necessary has to go through a permanent process of faster innovations. In this context first class hotels are considered the most valued hospitality choice for the tourist, due to its service, location and prices which are very low cost. This lodging industry is presented in a very competitive scenery which requires the implementation of a dynamic management model that make the company to accomplish their objectives and to reach the satisfaction of tourists. Then, in this project is presented the following proposal: Management Model, the standard of the 6 keys applied to the management of the hostel Casa Lloret. The content of the model settles a management through real examples, makeable and economically viable. And, here the leader plays a very important role, who has to assume his charge with a cleared mentality, having the participation of its human team which is the key of the hotelier management and being focused on the customer satisfaction. Its territory borders the cantons Cuenca, Girón and Santa Isabel, its privileged geographical location provide the territory with natural and cultural resources that make it an attractive place for tourist activities. Despite this and due to the absence of a tourism development plan that provides the strategies and guidelines necessary for the development of tourism, these resources have been wasted. It is for this reason that the present work seeks to determine the tourist potential of the canton, through a survey of tourist attractions, an analysis of supply and demand and a territorial diagnosis, with which the formulation of plans, programs and projects will be carried out, which when executed optimally will promote the tourist activity in the canton. These practices will help to promote and increase of national and international tourists in the canton, visiting areas with advantages not yet discovered as to increase tourism benefits. The main objective of this intervention project is to prepare an experiential rural tourism proposal for Hacienda El Cuadruco in San Joaquin parish, where visitors can find innovative services near the city, giving the opportunity to participate and get involved directly with the typical activities of a local farm.
