    Determinación de análisis de influencia y posibilidad de empleo de minerales no metálicos nacionales en la formulación de esmaltes cerámicos

    The present degree work proposes the investigation of the analysis of the influence of different non-metallic minerals of national origin, with the objective of adding these materials to a base glaze used by a ceramic tile manufacturing company in the city of Cuenca. The study consisted of three stages. In the first, the physical characteristics of the raw materials were determined, which functioned as factors in the experimental design, identifying material A1 as a ball clay and materials A2 and A3 possibly as kaolins, while materials F1 and F2 had a high content of quartz and feldspars. The second stage was based on evaluating the joint influence of the raw materials in a ceramic glaze by means of a 2k factorial experimental design, using melting diameter, density and gloss as output variables. The third stage analyzed the possibility of substituting imported or purchased materials using ANOVA statistical analysis. It was determined that the flux and density variables did not show statistically significant differences, while brightness varied in relation to A2 and A3 materials. In summary, the added materials did not significantly influence the base glaze, the only consideration being the influence of A2 and A3 materials for a specific gloss.
