This disease is a frequent cause of consultation in the eye area, constituting a challenge for the physician in the management and treatment, due to the high rate of postoperative recurrence that this holds. In the present study, we sought to compare the free conjunctival autograft versus rotary flap and able to establish the percentage of relapse using these surgical techniques in the treatment of primary pterygium. The research was conducted at the Regional Hospital of IEES "José Carrasco Arteaga" of Cuenca with a universe of 50 patients diagnosed with primary pterygium who were underwent surgery with the aforementioned techniques randomly, they were carried out periodic checks at 24h 8 days, 30 days and 90 days postoperatively. The results were that patients undergoing 16Of free plasty with relapsed with a degree + a ++, while the 24de operated patients with conjunctival rotational flap technique recurred grade a +++ ++. During the study there was an abandonment of patients from the third postoperative control with 8en percentage of free plasty group and 20in the rotary flap
